ALES 2026 Rules Vote – Old EPA vs Blackball

As agreed at our last ALES Pool League AGM, we are now asking all registered Tuesday League players to vote on which ruleset they would prefer the league to use moving forward.

During the current season, league matches have continued under Old EPA rules, while the Cup competition has given players the opportunity to experience Blackball rules. The intention was always to trial both before allowing the wider league membership to have their say.

Every registered player is entitled to one vote.

The voting form is short and simply asks for your details, your preference between the two rulesets, and any comments you would like to add in support of your choice.

Voting Deadline

Voting will remain open until Finals Day on Saturday 10th October 2026.

The results will then be reviewed by the committee ahead of the AGM, where the outcome and the league's future ruleset will be announced.

We would encourage all players, captains and vice-captains to take part so that the decision genuinely reflects the views of the whole league.

Please also help by making sure the players in your team are aware of the vote and have the opportunity to participate.
