That went quickly and we are already halfway through the League, with the Cup kicking off on February 3rd. The competition will feature two groups, split based on current team rankings. Now onto the week just gone - it’s been a big week for several teams, with changes at the top of Division 1 and some notable movement in Division 2

-------------------------------------

 đźŹ† Division 1 Highlights

NRS 6 - 6 Shepperton Sports

One of several draws in the league this week, with nothing separating the two sides. Shepperton Sports are still chasing their first win, and while it wasn’t to be on this occasion, it was still a strong result against a consistent NRS team.

The match was evenly balanced throughout, with the opening six frames shared at 3–3. NRS then made a strong start to the second half, taking frames 7 and 8 as Stuart Mackenzie and Jason Willerby overcame Gary Weltner and David Miah.

But Shepperton Sports responded brilliantly, winning the next three frames to go 6–5 ahead and give themselves a real chance of securing their first victory. However, a composed performance from Alan Wittekind in the final frame against Craig Cooke levelled the match, ending in a 6–6 draw.

SS&NR 1 - 11 Three Tuns

Three Tuns were on a mission to bounce back from last week’s defeat, and they certainly delivered - returning to the top of the league in style with a dominant 11–1 victory, boosted further by two dishes to earn a huge 15‑point week.

SS & NR actually made the brighter start, going 1–0 up after Greg Omahomy defeated George Smith. But from there, Three Tuns shifted through the gears, winning the next 11 consecutive frames. Frame 9 saw an excellent break dish from Daz Wallace, and frame 12 produced a reverse dish from Leighton Cumber, rounding off an emphatic performance.

A statement win: 11 points, 2 dish points, and 2 win points—a powerful response and a clear message sent to the rest of the league.

Sunbury Con B 5 - 7 Egham & Hythe Whites

Another close contest saw Egham & Hythe Whites adopt an unusual 2,2,2,2,2 format this week, with each player taking two consecutive frames. It’s the first time this tactic has been used by any team this season — and it paid off with a 7–5 victory.

The opening half was evenly matched, with the first six frames shared at 3–3. But Egham stepped things up in the second half, taking four of the final six frames to secure the win. It was a strong night for Martin Hyman, who won both of his frames and played a key role in getting his side over the line.

At the start of the season, Luke Emmett confidently tipped Egham & Hythe Whites as title contenders. They remain a strong side, but with a 10‑point gap to second place, they will need to raise their level in the second half of the seasonif they’re to turn that prediction into reality.

WR Sports 7 - 5 Staines Cons D

The unbeaten WR Sports side continued their fine form with a 7-5 win at home to Staines Cons D this week. Captain Ben Reading setting an early pace in the Leading Player also and adding 3 more wins to his name this season. Although unbeaten, Three Tuns 11-1 win and 15 points saw them take the top spot, dish points playing a huge part in this change this season

An even match after 6 with both teams sharing 3 point each, Staines Cons D did then step up a little and lead the match 5-4 before a superb reverse dish in frame 11 from Ethan Coates got his team level. Leading Player Ben Reading didnt hold back, winning the final frame against Tony Sparrow to get the 7-5 winn.

🏆 🏆 Division 2 Highlights

Egham & Hythe Youth 6 - 6 Sunbury Con A

It was a night that had a bit of everything — and one that will feel far more like a win for Egham & Hythe Youth, and very much like a missed opportunity for Sunbury Con A. Sunbury were desperately unlucky and, truth be told, had the match under control for long stretches before a series of twists allowed Egham to snatch a draw.

Sunbury started strongly, taking four of the first six frames, though a huge moment came in frame 3 when young Dexter Reilly produced his first-ever reverse dish, a brilliant clearance that earned his team a bonus point.

The chaos continued in frame 9, where Adam Peters had the chance to move Sunbury closer to victory — only to miss the black entirely, gifting Mark Court the frame. More misfortune followed in frame 11, when Ben Pryce potted the black but accidentally dropped in a colour as well, handing Harvey Hamblin the frame.

Then, in frame 12, young Max James stepped up for the second week running and delivered once again, securing the final frame against Ross Lindie to earn Egham & Hythe Youth a hard‑fought draw.

A fortunate night for Egham — and a frustrating one for Sunbury, who will feel this was a win that slipped through their fingers.

Jolly Butcher 6 - 6 London Stone

The third draw of the week saw a tight battle between Jolly Butcher and London Stone, a match that truly felt like a game of two halves. Jolly Butcher came flying out of the blocks, taking a commanding 5–1 lead through the opening six frames.

But the second half told a very different story. A determined fightback from London Stone saw them win four consecutive frames, levelling the match at 5–5. Once again, Leo Cooper stepped up for Jolly Butcher, putting his side back in front at 6–5 with another strong performance. Cooper, who currently leads the Division 2 stats, added another two wins to his impressive season tally.

However, the match still had one final twist. Andy Henson held his nerve in frame 12, securing the win for London Stone and earning his team a well‑deserved draw.

Staines Cons New 5 - 7 WR All Stars

A top‑of‑the‑table Division 2 clash saw WR All Stars continue their outstanding form, remaining unbeaten with a solid 7–5 victory over Staines Cons New. An early 4–2 lead proved crucial, giving WR All Stars the platform they needed. They then pushed on to 7–3 before Staines Cons New claimed the final two frames.

It was another strong night for Michael Punter, who now has 9 wins from 10 frames this season — a remarkable return.

After seven matches, these two sides look very much like the teams to beat in Division 2. WR All Stars have opened up a strong lead at the top, and the rest of the division will be chasing hard in the second half of the season.
