There were plenty of close matches this week, with many decided by the Doubles. A few teams are already starting to cement their place towards the ALES Cup after just three games, though there’s still a lot to play for with the competition not even halfway through. Some teams will need to start picking up wins soon if they want to avoid the Wooden Spoon. Next week is a free week, with a handful of matches being played to catch up.
------------------------------------------------------------
🏆 Group A:
- NRS 7 - 6 SS&NR:
- It was a game of two halves, with SS&NR taking control early by racing into a 4 – 1 lead after the opening singles. NRS then found their rhythm in the Doubles, winning all three to level the match at 4 – 4. SS&NR halted the momentum through Greg Omahomy and Joe Byrne, edging back in front to lead 6 – 4, but NRS once again responded, clawing their way back to make it 6 – 6. The decisive frame saw NRS star man Jason Willerby take on SS&NR Captain Wayne Timbrell in a high‑pressure showdown. Willerby held his nerve to win the frame and secure a dramatic 7 – 6 victory for NRS.

- Egham & Hythe F 8 - 5 Egham & Hythe Youth:
- An Egham & Hythe derby that felt like there was little riding on it was played in great spirit, with plenty of laughs throughout the night. The shock of the evening, and a huge one at that, was Luke Emmett picking up a dish alongside Dan East. It was a much closer contest than the scoreline suggested, but ultimately a result that meant more to Egham & Hythe F, and especially to Luke Emmett who celebrated like Fulham had finally won a game. Egham & Hythe Youth made a strong start, edging into a 2–1 lead, but momentum quickly shifted once the doubles got underway. Egham & Hythe F capitalised, racing into a 6–3 advantage. The main talking point of the night, however, was the clash between Luke Emmett and Dan Reilly — a battle for bragging rights and a place in each other’s heads. Dan Reilly came out on top in that encounter, but it wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome, as Egham & Hythe F crossed the line with an 8–5 victory.

- Staines Cons New 8 - 5 London Stone:
- Staines Cons New bounced back from last week’s defeat to Three Tuns with a solid 8 – 5 victory over the London Stone. They made an excellent start, taking a commanding 4 – 1 lead in the singles, with London Stone’s only point coming courtesy of Andy Hensen, who defeated Matty Clark. London Stone found some momentum in the Doubles, winning two of the three to close the gap to 5 – 3. However, Matty Clark responded well to his earlier defeat, stepping up to put Staines Cons New back on course. Captain Grant Baker then secured the win, extending the lead to 7 – 3. Although Andy Hensen added another point late on for London Stone, it proved too little, too late, as Staines Cons New closed out the match to seal an 8 – 5 win.

🏆🏆 Group B:
- WR All Stars 1 - 12 WR Sports A:
- A match full of bragging rights in this WR Sports derby saw WR All Stars fancy their chances going in, but WR Sports A had other ideas. Bouncing back from their opening Cup defeat to Eddies, WR Sports A continued their strong recent form, following up last week’s emphatic 12 – 1 victory with another big 12 - 1 win this week to secure the local bragging rights. The standout moment of the night came from Rob Malik, who produced a superb reverse dish against Stacey Cox in Frame 4. It proved to be a night to forget for WR All Stars who were on the end of a 12 - 1 loss, but will now look to regroup and move on quickly, while WR Sports A climb to the top of Group B.
----------------------
- Eddies 11 - 2 Jolly Butcher:
- Eddies continued their strong Cup form, making it three wins from three with an emphatic 11 – 2 victory over Jolly Butcher. The opening five frames were closely contested, with Eddies holding a narrow 3 – 2 lead, but the match swung decisively once the Doubles began. From that point on, Eddies turned on the style, winning all eight remaining frames, three doubles and five singles to seal an impressive 11 – 2 win. It was a tough night for Jolly Butcher, who in recent weeks have been picking up several frames. A statement win for Eddies, leaving them in a very strong position in their Cup group lead by Captain Chris Attwell.

- Shepperton Sports 7 - 6 Sunbury Con Club B:
- A very tight encounter saw Shepperton Sports secure back‑to‑back 7–6 victories, this time over Sunbury Con B. The standout performers on the night were Terry Linacar and Min Kirby, who both went a perfect 3 from 3, winning two singles and a doubles. Terry capped off his performance by taking the decisive frame in Frame 12 to clinch the team win. A special mention also goes to Allyn Sutton, who set the tone early with a reverse dish against Bobby Heard in Frame 1. It was a strong all‑round display from Shepperton Sports, making it two wins from their opening three matches.
----------------------
- Sunbury Con Club A 5 - 8 Staines Con D:
- Another team to make it three wins from three in the Cup were Staines Cons D, who claimed an 8–5 victory over Sunbury Con Club B. The match was largely decided by the doubles, with Staines Cons D winning all three to open up a 6 – 2 lead after eight frames. Marcus Cummings secured the win by taking Frame 9, extending the lead to 7 – 2. Sunbury Con Club B showed resilience by winning the next two frames, but the comeback came too late. Tony Sparrow then stepped up to defeat Ben Pryce and make it 8 for Staines, before Shaun Meehan picked up a consolation point to round off the match at 8 – 5.
