A huge week with so much on the line, and plenty decided across both divisions. Special mentions go to Three Tuns, who edged out WR Sports A to claim the Division 1 title, and WR All Stars, who secured the Division 2 crown, with Eddies completing the promotion spots in second.

There’s still one key fixture to play in Division 1, which will ultimately decide the final relegation spot. As it stands, either NRS or SS&NR will join Shepperton in Division 2 next season, with everything to be settled in the final game.

-------------------------------------

🏆 Division 1 Highlights

Egham & Hythe Whites 9 - 3 Sunbury Con Club B

A match with little riding on it for either side, with neither team pushing for promotion or battling relegation - but that didn’t stop Egham & Hythe Whites from stepping up and delivering a convincing 9–3 victory.

Paddy McLaughlin gave Sunbury Con Club B the perfect start, defeating Dan East in the opening frame. However, Captain Luke Emmett quickly turned the tide, kickstarting a strong run that saw Egham & Hythe Whites take the next four frames. They moved into a 4–2 lead after six and maintained their momentum, winning frames 7, 8, and 9 to extend their advantage to 7–2.

Paddy McLaughlin added a consolation point for Sunbury with a win over Luke Emmett, but any hopes of further consulation points were short-lived as Dan Emmett and Dan East closed out the match to secure a comfortable 9–3 win.

Shepperton Sports 6 - 6 NRS

Both teams came into this clash fighting to avoid relegation, with Shepperton Sports needing a big win to keep their survival hopes alive. Despite a strong start, it ultimately proved to be too little, too late.

Shepperton flew out of the blocks to take a 4–2 lead, with wins from Allyn Sutton, David Miah, Gary Weltiner, and Lito Estrella. Vinny Mitchell (newly appointed councillor of Addlestone - congratulations, Vinny) picked up a solid win in frame 2 for NRS, while Jason Willerby added another in frame 5.

However, the second half saw a complete turnaround that would seal Shepperton’s fate. NRS won four of the next five frames to edge ahead 6–5, before Lito Estrella took the deciding frame to finish the match 6-6.

The result leaves Shepperton Sports rooted to the bottom of the table and relegated, while NRS keep their survival hopes alive heading into their final game next week 4 points behind.

Staines Cons D 7 - 5 WR Sports A

WR Sports A came into this fixture knowing their title defence was all but over without a miracle, and with key man Rob Malik missing, it was an opportunity for Will Brown to step in on debut.

They made a solid start, with Ben Reading taking the opening frame, but from there Staines Cons D took complete control, reeling off the next five frames in dominant fashion. Tony Sparrow was the standout performer on the night, producing a brilliant reverse dish in frame 3 and repeating the feat again in frame 7.

Staines raced into a commanding 7–1 lead an outcome few would have predicted at the start of the night and although Daniel James sparked a brief response, it proved too late, with the result already beyond doubt.

Ben Reading, chasing to become the season’s Stats Leader continued his strong campaign despite an earlier loss to Tony Sparrow's reverse dish, produced one of his own in frame 10.

WR Sports A then finished strongly, taking the final four frames to narrow the scoreline, but Staines Cons D had already done enough to secure an impressive 7–5 victory.

Three Tuns 9 - 3 SS&NR Club

Newly crowned champions Three Tuns came into the night knowing the job was pretty much done especially after results elsewhere but were determined to finish in style and pile the pressure on SS&NR Club at the wrong end of the table.

With one eye perhaps on WR Sports A’s result, Three Tuns made a strong start, moving into a 4–2 lead thanks to a superb treble of wins from Daz Wallace and another from Captain Leighton Cumber. Greg O’Mahony and Wayne Timbrell responded with a couple of frames to keep SS&NR in touch.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Three Tuns shifting through the gears and asserting their dominance. Winning five of the final six frames, they closed out a convincing 9–3 victory.

The result not only confirms Three Tuns as deserving champions but also leaves SS&NR Club just outside the relegation zone four points clear of NRS, who face Egham & Hythe Whites next week in a decisive final fixture.

Congratulations to Three Tuns and Captain Leighton Cumber on a fantastic title-winning season.

🏆 🏆 Division 2 Highlights

Eddies 10 - 2 Egham & Hythe Ladies

The team that came from nowhere knew that with a strong result and a bit of luck elsewhere they still had a chance to finish 1st or 2nd and secure promotion. In the end, everything fell perfectly into place.

Eddies got off to a flying start, racing into a 3–0 lead before Ali Plant responded with an excellent win over Jon Martin in frame 4. However, Richard Hurley quickly restored control, keeping the momentum firmly with Eddies and edging them closer to promotion.

Chris Attwell, Hiss Salish, and Jon Martin then added further frames to stretch the lead to 7–1, before Ali Plant picked up another for the Ladies to grab a consolation.

The final three frames all went Eddies’ way as they sealed an emphatic 10–2 victory. With other results going in their favour, it was enough to see them climb into 2nd place and clinch promotion in remarkable fashion.

Congratulations to Captain Chris Attwell for leading his side to a superb second-place finish and a promotion that few would have predicted from where they were 4 weeks ago.

London Stone 4 - 8 Jolly Butcher

Another match with little riding on the league table, played more for pride than position, saw Jolly Butcher secure a convincing 8–4 win over London Stone, who were only able to field three players on the night.

Jolly Butcher made a strong start, building a 4–2 lead, with Star Man Leo Cooper setting the tone early by taking the opening frame against Chris Butler.

They carried that momentum into the second half, winning the next three frames to take full control of the match. London Stone showed some fight, with Nick McDonald overcoming Amrik Mann and Andy Henson defeating Hip Patel to pull a couple back, but it wasn’t enough.

Jason Anidjah closed out the final frame to complete a solid 8–4 victory for Jolly Butcher.

Sunbury Con Club A 3 - 9 Egham & Hythe Youth

Egham & Hythe Youth knew their recent form had dented their promotion hopes, but with results potentially going their way, a big win still offered a glimmer of a chance. In the end, it wasn’t quite enough but they still delivered an impressive 9–3 victory.

They couldn’t have asked for a better start, racing into a dominant 6–0 lead with braces from Dan Reilly and Max James, alongside wins from Harvey Hamblin and Stan Sims.

Ross Lindie pulled one back for Sunbury Con Club, but any hopes of a comeback were quickly shut down as Stan Sims secured the winning frame in match 8.

Sunbury added a couple more late frames, but the outcome was never in doubt, with Egham & Hythe Youth wrapping up a strong 9–3 result. It wasn’t quite enough to secure promotion, but it caps a solid season - highlighted by Dan Reilly edging out Michael Punter to claim the Division 2 Stats Leader title.

WR All Stars 7 - 5 Staines Cons New

A huge match at the top of the table saw 1st take on 2nd, with everything on the line. WR All Stars knew a strong win would seal the title, while Staines Cons New were chasing both promotion and an outside shot at the top spot. In the end, it was WR All Stars who rose to the occasion, securing a 7–5 victory to be crowned Division 2 Champions.

Staines Cons New made the brighter start, racing into an early 2–0 lead and giving themselves real hope. However, Ryan Fastnedge stepped up to spark the turnaround, leading a decisive run that was backed up by wins from Joe Delcourt, Stacey Cox, Michael Punter, and Stewart Harmes, as WR All Stars surged into a commanding 7–2 lead.

With the title effectively secured, the remaining frames became about pride and personal battles. Perry Baker and Grant Baker pulled a couple back, before a big win for Matty Clark over Michael Punter proved crucial - denying Michael Punter the Stats Leader title and handing it instead to Dan Reilly.

While Michael Punter may have slipped to second individually, it mattered little on the night as WR All Stars celebrated both the title and promotion in style.

Congratulations to WR All Stars and Captain Joe Delcourt. Commiserations to Staines Cons New, who spent much of the season in the top two, but ultimately fell short after Eddies’ late charge and a tough final-day defeat.
