🏆 Division 1 Highlights
Egham & Hythe Whites 7-5 Staines Cons D
In a match where both sides were battling for a top‑three finish, this was always set to be a tight contest. However, the early stages told a different story, with Egham & Hythe Whites racing into a 6–1 lead after seven frames. Only Superstar Paul Morrison suffered defeat, with Dan Elsey taking that frame.
When Dan Emmett secured frame nine to extend the advantage to 7–2, it looked like a comfortable win was on the cards. But a spirited late surge from Staines Cons saw them claim the final three frames, making the final scoreline far more respectable.
Shepperton Sports 4 - 8 SS&NR Club
In a clash between two teams rooted to the bottom of the table and both hunting for their first win, SS&NR came out on top - narrowing the gap to safety while stretching the distance to Shepperton Sports. Determined not to let this opportunity slip, SS&NR claimed both sets 4–2, securing an 8–4 victory overall.
Greg Omahony was the standout performer of the night, winning all three of his frames and playing a key role in delivering SS&NR’s first win of the season.
Sunbury Con Club B 7 - 5 NRS
It was a true game of two halves and arguably a shock result for anyone studying the form guide, but full credit goes to Sunbury Con Club B for a superb home victory. They stormed into a dominant 6–1 lead, leaving NRS with a mountain to climb.
To their credit, NRS refused to roll over, battling back to take the next five frames and level the match at 6–6. That set up a tense decider between Min Kirby and Vinny Mitchell.
In a tight and pressured final frame, it was Min Kirby who held his nerve, sealing the win and securing an excellent 7–5 result for Sunbury Con Club B.
Three Tuns A 4 - 8 WR Sports A
It was a showdown between the league’s only two unbeaten sides - widely regarded as the top teams in the league and many expected this to end in a draw. With both teams missing their usual “Robs,” changes were needed: with Rob Mutter unavailable, Daz Wallace stepped in, while the absence of Rob Malik saw Tom Howick called up for WR Sports.
Captain Ben Reading proved to be the standout performer, setting the tone early and later helping to steer his team over the line as WR Sports secured a commanding 8 - 4 victory. It’s a huge statement from one of the title favourites and marks the first defeat of the season for The Three Tuns.
WR Sports look incredibly strong and will take some stopping now to stop back to back League Titles!

🏆 🏆 Division 2 Highlights
Staines Cons New 10 - 2 Jolly Butcher
What began as 1–0… then 2–0… then 3–0… suddenly snowballed into 7–0, and at that point Grant Baker was already drafting the message: “We’re going to win 12–0.”
Grant stepped up next, finger hovering over the send button only for Hip Patel to spoil the party by grabbing a frame and putting an end to the dream at 7–1. The fantasy of a perfect 12–0 vanished, forcing Grant to update his message to the familiar weekly classic: “It should have been 12–0.” A line he uses even when his team lose, which this season has not been often!
That said, nothing should be taken away from Staines Cons New, who continue to surprise this season. They closed the gap on WR All Stars with a dominant 10–2 win over Jolly Butcher. Maybe next week will be the week Grant finally gets to send that 12–0 text… but for now, the wait continues!
WR All Stars 6 -6 Sunbury Con Club A
League leaders WR All Stars now joining their sister side WR Sports at the top of their respective divisions, started in dominant fashion, racing into a commanding 5–0 lead and looking set for a routine victory. But Sunbury had other ideas.
Captain Russell Cooper sparked the fightback, giving his team the lift they needed and from there, the momentum swung dramatically. In a season where comebacks are becoming a theme, this one was another reminder of just how tight the standard is across the league.
Even at 6–2 down, WR All Stars still seemed certain to secure the win, but Sunbury produced a superb final surge, taking the last four frames to earn a thoroughly deserved 6–6 draw.
Eddies 6 - 6 Egham & Hythe Youth
Eddies came into this one struggling for form, while Egham & Hythe Youth were riding high after back‑to‑back wins. The visitors started brightly, with their experienced players taking the opening two frames, but the momentum quickly swung as Eddies surged ahead to a 4–2 lead.
Dan Reilly pulled one back for Egham before Chris Atwell steadied things for Eddies by taking frame eight. That left the Young Guns with work to do, trailing 5 - 3 and needing something special to rescue the match.
And special is exactly what they delivered. Young Stan Sims stepped up, playing back‑to‑back frames, and winning both to level the match at 5–5 with some outstanding play. Next came Young Max James, who looked sharp, but experience told as Chris Atwell pinched the frame to give Eddies a 6–5 lead and a chance to close it out.
Facing huge pressure in the final frame, Max returned to the table knowing defeat meant losing the match. Instead of faltering, he rose to the moment, producing a brilliant frame to secure a dramatic 6–6 draw.

Next week is not only my 21st birthday, but also the final league match before the Cup begins. With cup groups determined by league position at the halfway stage, there’s still plenty to play for.
Cup Groups will be decided based on the halfway standings:
- Group 1: Ranks 1, 3, 5, 7 from Division 1 and 2, 4, 6, 8 from Division 2
- Group 2: Ranks 2, 4, 6, 8 from Division 1 and 1, 3, 5, 7 from Division 2
Fixtures for the Cup will be released once next week’s league results are confirmed
